Miss South Africa 2020 Shudufhadzo Musida affectionately known as ‘Shudu’ is returning home after not making the cut as a Top 13 finalist for the Miss World Pageant.
After being postponed in December 2021 for about 90 days, the Miss World pageant competition returned and took place on the 16th March 2022 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Upon return to the Miss World stage, Shudu qualified as Top 40 semi-finalist, however her Miss World journey shortly came to an end after not qualifying for a spot in the Top 13.
Shudu Musida may have not won the 2021 Miss World pageant competition but she certainly left her mark as she received the Beauty with a Purpose award for her ‘Mindful Movement’ initiative.
In an Instagram post, Shudu expressed her gratitude to everyone who has supported her throughout her Miss World journey.
“From the bottom of my heart I want to thank you my beloved South Africa for your unwavering support and love I have received from you throughout this journey! I felt it within my soul as I stepped out on stage!”
Karolina Biewleska from Poland became the 70th Miss World and was crowned by the longest-reigning Miss World titleholder, Miss World 2019 Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica.
The first runner-up title went to Shree Saini of the United States, and the second runner-up title went to Cote d’Ivoire’s Olivia Yace.
