The SA Civil Aviation Authority(SACAA) has lifted its suspension on Comair, with British Airways and Kulula flights able to resume.
This after the SACAA banned the airline from operating due to safety concerns over the weekend.
Reinstating Comair’s Air Operators Certificate is a welcome relief for airline which was left impacted by the 5-day ban.
“Our focus is to get our operations back to normal as quickly as possible and schedules will therefore be restored in a phased manner,” the airline shared with the public.
In a statement the SACAA said the assessment and evaluation of Comair was concluded following a spate of occurrences which posed safety risks to Kulula and British airways.
“The regulator sought to confirm Comair’s compliance with applicable Civil Aviation Regulations. The inspection was also aimed at reviewing Comair’s Safety Management System and quality control management system to establish compliance related to the reporting, analysis and follow-up on occurrences, and corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.”
