“I literally can’t breathe!” were the words Minnie Dlamini sent to her family after rubbing shoulders with Venus Williams.
Minnie bumped into the tennis legend at French restaurant Le Dalí. The South African media personality arrived in the city of love last week for Paris Fashion Week.
Running into Venus Williams was like a dream come true for Minnie who admired and looked up to her growing up.
Minnie Dlamini had to tell Venus how much both she and her sister Serena mean to her.
“My dad made me and my late brother play tennis because of them and getting my provincial colours for tennis was one of my proudest moments. As I remember being one of the only black kids on the court growing up.”
Minnie shared the surreal moment she rubbed shoulders with Venus Williams with her followers on Instagram.
Thanking her tennis icon, Minnie wrote, “Thank you for being a huge inspiration in my life. I may not have become a professional tennis player but I am very much the woman I am today because of your influence in my childhood. Representation matters.”
While in Paris, Minnie also rubbed shoulders with red-bottomed stiletto heel designer Christian Louboutin. She was caught rocking the high-end, red lacquered bottom heels on the streets of Paris looking very avant-garde.
Minnie announced that she is ending her 4-year marriage to Quinton Jones on 15 February.
