An autopsy report has ruled Australian cricketer Shane Warne died of natural causes.
The 52-year old sporting legend died in Thailand on Friday from a suspected heart attack.
According to Thai officials, the post-mortem results ruled out any foul play. This after speculation around Warne’s extreme 14-day juice-cleanse raised concerns around the circumstances of his death.
After his death, a health expert warned that liquid cleanses can increase the risk of heart attacks.
Shane Warne was on holiday in Thailand on a boys trip at the luxury Samujana Villa resort.
He was found unresponsive in his room at 17h00 on Friday.
Warne will be given a state funeral once the Australian government retrieves his body from Thailand.
The famous cricketer gained popularity for his signature leg-spin style of bowling and was considered one of the greatest bowlers in cricketing history.
He made his international cricket debut in 1992, taking a total of 708 wickets in Test matches.
A drug scandal in 2003 meant he was banned for a year from one-day internationals. In 2018, he was appointed coach for Rajasthan in the Indian Premier League.
