Go kgopela tshwarelo/apologising doesn’t always mean you’re the one who’s wrong. It just means you value your relationship more than your ego.
But at what point do you say: ema nyana nkase kgopele tshwarelo kaone ga ka dira phoso?
You once did something with good intentions, and you are being blamed for it, but you feel you did nothing wrong. They are still waiting for an apology to this day, why?
The Best T in the City listeners share why they will not apologise:
Mpho says her heart is heavy at the moment, she is tired of being the one who always apologises for peace’s sake.
Mapula shares an incident that happened on Christmas. “My mother used to do wrong to us with no apology, but on Christmas day she really hurt my sister. But guess what? The following morning she was angry at my sister and told my niece that my sister should apologize to her. Ra di bona shem,” she tells Tbose.
A Kaya 959 listener on social media says she removed her cousin as her husband’s best man. “He wanted to call the shots on when the bachelor party will be. I refused to get married to a half-drunk man & my cousin thought he could call the shots on my wedding. So he got canceled completely. I will NOT apologize,” she shares.
Lorrain says she’ll not apologise to her in-laws.
“I refused to apologise to my in-laws because I knew I did nothing wrong as I was protecting my home. They decided to distance themselves from me but eventually, they came back.”
