It appears Youtuber Rea Gopane has not learned his lesson after losing a defamation case filed against him by Bonang Matheba – he now has to pay R300 000.
Sharing the news on social media through a series of tweets, Bonang hinted that Rea will pay the R300 000 over a 30-year period as he could not afford the full amount.
A day after Bonang made this known on social media, a video of Rea mocking her circulated. He can be heard saying, “let me tell you all something real quick, come closer – she is not getting a cent. She is not getting a cent from me. I’ve been having this planned out from last year – I ain’t paying ish.”

Bonang filed the lawsuit against Rea Gopane in May 2021, after he alleged in his podcast that she introduced her ex-boyfriend AKA to drugs.
Her lawyers issued a letter to the Youtuber instructing him to retract the statement and issue a written and a video apology on social media. He was initially ordered to pay R500 000
Gopane retracted the statement and issued the apology accordingly but failed to pay the amount.
