Developer Alessandro Paluzzi announced that Twitter is currently developing a new feature called Flocks.
The feature will allow users to add a total of 150 Twitter followers to a Flock, essentially allowing them into a private circle.
Followers will be alerted that they were added to a flock via a green coloured notification that will pop up under the Tweet.
The notification will read as, “You can see this Tweet because the author has added you to their Twitter Flock.”
Paluzzi shared the following visual example in a Tweet to his followers:

Flocks can be described as a limited personalised selection of Twitter followers who are added to a group.
It was first referred to as Trusted Friends when it was introduced in July 2021.
At the time, one important feature that was revealed is that a Flock tweet appears first on timelines, eliminating the dreaded algorithm from getting in the way.
The official launch date for Flocks is still unknown.
The advantages of it are also being questioned.
Flocks will be used to send private messages to a closed circle of friends.
However, private messages are currently done through DMs which also allow you to send one message to more than one follower.
