The City of Tshwane has stepped in to assist families affected by recent floods.
Since the start of the year Tshwane has experienced heavy rainfall which led to localised flooding affecting many communities.
Some of the hardest hit areas were Hammanskraal and Onverwacht near Cullinan.
The city’s Community and Social Development Services Department and the Emergency Services Department have helped more than 400 families that were affected.
Displaced families were temporarily accommodated at community halls, whilst 16 families are still seeking refuge after their homes were completely damaged.
Affected communities received blankets, food, mattresses and hygiene packs.
The city remains on high alert with more rain forecast for the rest of the week.
