The Mpumalanga Department of Education is expected to visit Kopanang Secondary School after a teacher crashed into the staff room.
Two teachers and two learners were injured in the accident on Wednesday afternoon.
According to a statement from the department, a teacher at the school accidentally drove into the staff room. The freak accident took place during school hours and the department is still investigating the circumstances.
Department spokesperson Jasper Zwane said, “According to the preliminary information, which still needs to be verified, it looks like a teacher accidentally drove into the staff room.”
As reported by DMC Newz, the injured teachers and students were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Mpumalanga MEC for Education, Bonakele Majuba will be visiting the school on Thursday to assess the situation. The accident comes as schools are busy with final examinations.
Pictures of the accident were shared shortly after and the damages to the staff room are extensive.
