After multiple media outlets, including Kaya 959, published false information about his marital status, Lebo M decided to personally set the record straight.
In an exclusive interview, the award-winning producer and composer told Kaya 959 presenter Bonolo BeeSting Molosiwa that he is deeply disappointed with journalists in the country.
A Sunday World article insinuated that Lebohang “Lebo M” Morake would be walking down the aisle for the 6th time, and several publications subsequently picked up the story.
When he saw that the false information was also carried on the Kaya 959 website, Morake decided that he had had enough.
He reached out to the radio station to set the record straight, expressing his shock at the broadcaster’s actions.
“Kaya 959 will always be family to me, but you guys have become a tabloid too. Have we become so morally and intellectually bankrupt that even people in high society believe this nonsense?” Morake told BeeSting.
He believes that his reality show Lebo M – Coming Home exacerbated the rumours by painting him as a villain.
For the record
The Lion King musical composer married and divorced 3 times and is not walking down the aisle anytime soon.
“I have 3 marriage certificates and 3 divorce decrees, if you don’t trust me go to home affairs,” he declared.
His 3 ex-wives are Nandi Ndlovu, Viveca Gibson and Angela Ngani-Casara.
After his son Thembalethu died at 14-months old, he opened an investigation into the cause of his death.
“I wanted an investigation into my son’s death. My son’s death was no accident, he was murdered. His mother, Nandi shut down the investigation to hide her neglience in his death.” Morake shared.
“I spoke out about that and my ex-wife and her tabloid friend executed a strategy to ruin my name. Do you guys not see the theme to disgrace and humiliate me?”
Morake traced the source of the rumours about him back to reporter Theo Nyhaba from Sunday World. He believes his “bitter ex-wife Nandi” and the reporter hatched a plan to tarnish his name over a period of 10 years.
