Nonhlanhla ‘Skolopad‘ Qwabe has revealed that she’s been battling bipolar disorder for ten years.
The singer, who is also a qualified nurse, says she has been in denial about her diagnosis.
“Let me re-introduce myself. My name is Qwabe Nonhlanhla I have bipolar disorder. I’ve been in a denial stage for 10 years but today again I was re-diagnosed by my new psychologist,” she wrote on Instagram on Tuesday.
The 38-year-old says small things trigger her bipolar.
“Please don’t feel sorry [for] me but support me with your prayer as my levels are now uncontrollable,” she added.
Skolopad says she is seeking treatment.

What is bipolar disorder?
Bipolar disorder is a mental health condition that causes severe mood swings and depression, according to Mayo Clinic.
Several celebrities, including Mariah Carey, have confirmed that they have bipolar.
“Until recently I lived in denial and isolation and in constant fear someone would expose me… I sought and received treatment, I put positive people around me and I got back to doing what I love — writing songs and making music,” Mariah told PEOPLE magazine in 2018.
Kanye West, who legally changed his name to Ye, was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2016.
