Shauwn Mkhize has asked her Instagram followers to pray for Max Mqadi – the owner of Umlazi’s popular shisanyama, Max’s Lifestyle Village.
According to several reports, Max was shot while leaving the shisanyama on Thursday night. Police say Max managed to drive himself to Durban’s Florida Road and was later taken to hospital.
Shauwn says the news about her “dear brother” is “very disturbing”.
“… may I please ask that we include my brother Max and his family during this trying time. May no weapon formed against him prosper.
“Pull through my brother!!! Your sis love you to to the moon and back, ut Aries are strong people with so much of resilience you once told me this I know you will fight and pull through” she wrote.

Max’s daughter, Zinhle Mqadi, took to Twitter shortly after the shooting.

No arrests have been made. Police have opened a case of attempted murder.
Was Max saved by his iPhone?
A picture has gone viral allegedly showing Max’s iPhone with damaged caused by one of the bullets. Max was allegedly on the phone when the gunmen confronted him.

Max’s Lifestyle has issued a statement following the incident. The eatery confirmed that Max was shot at close range.
“We would like to take this time to thank everyone who has showed support to Mr @max_mqadi and his family.🙏🏼 Our Eagle has not fallen,” the statement read.
