Our special guest, Award-winning 76 year-old musician Babsy Mlangeni joined the #BreakfastWithDavid to share stories about music from his earlier days as a musician and how his music spoke to the daily struggles.

He is currently visiting a school in Klipriver under the Babsy Mlangeni Foundation which seeks to give back to the community focussing on children living with disabilities.
He reflects on his earlier career when talent scouts where asking him how he could record music when he was blind. He simply asked them “Have you ever seen eyes sing?”
This was an era where he changed the music landscape being in the forefront of a 1968 and with his first single “Sala Ema” which was a huge block buster which in 1969.

His work with his foundation started in 2017, and has a flagship programme called ‘I can’ campaign where Babsy goes to schools where there are children with disabilities.
