The story of rising star Sanele Sithole, better known as Sun-EL Musician, a DJ, producer, and musician from KwaZulu-Natal, is one that resonates with many who have dreams of making it in the South African music industry.
Sun-EL recently joined the #BestTInTheCity to share his life’s journey and his favorite music. He recalled his early days when he wanted to get into the music industry and how he spent two years living with his grandmother when he couldn’t afford to go back to school.
His current offering ‘Africa To The World’ which is filled with incredible mid-tempo vocal house melodies has become an absolute favorite on dance floors across the country. His music speaks is very much a reflection of South Africa’s day to day realities. Songs like ‘Akanamali’, ‘Bamthathile’, ‘Sengimoja’, making him a relevant artist in his own right.

His current single Sengimoja chronicle’s the story of a man who has had it with his partner’s behaviour and how he feels about being in that situation.
Sun El Musician explains the song “It’s a person who doesn’t pay attention to you, and who doesn’t take you serious. It’s a song saying I am done…”

His success has been well noted by the industry and he has in his short stint as a musician scooped three #SAMA24 awards for his hit track ‘Akanamali’ with Sumthing Soweto for Best collaboration, SAMPRA highest airplay and SAMRO highest airplay.
