The ‘ton’ is abuzz with the hot rumour that Regé-Jean Page has teased a Bridgerton S2 cameo appearance. Set for release on 21 January 2022, the incomparable cast will include the dashing Duke of Hastings, played by Regé-Jean.
Scooping Standout Performance at the GQ Men of the Year Awards for the role, Regé-Jean didn’t give too much away but teased that Simon Basset may return after all.
In an interview with British GQ, Regé-Jean said, “You know I couldn’t tell you!” But when prodded further, he responded, “Isn’t there something wonderful about being surprised by what you weren’t suspecting?”
What will S2 entail?
While Season 1 of the popular Netflix series centred around Simon and Daphne’s romance, the second instalment will focus on Anthony Bridgerton’s quest to find his Viscountess.
Readers of the Julia Quinn novels know that Simon and Daphne are not a big part of the second book and the series has been set up to follow the lives of the highly esteemed Bridgerton clan.
Season 1 ended with the birth of Simon’s heir and the Duke mending his relationship with his wife.
The series was crowned Netflix’s most-watched series with 82 million viewers and saw Regé-Jean Page rising to instant stardom.
While Regé-Jean teases Bridgerton S2 cameo, he has already signed up to two projects: the Russo brothers’ “The Grey Man,” alongside Chris Evans, Chris Pine, Ryan Gosling and Ana de Armas, and “Dungeons & Dragons.”
Regé-Jean Page was also tipped as a frontrunner to take over the role of James Bond after Daniel Craig exits this year. “Well, of all the things you’ll read about yourself on the internet, it’s one of the more pleasant and more flattering,” Page told GQ of the rumours. “But I take it and leave it at that, personally.”
