It’s been four months since AKA’s fiancée, Anele ”Nelli” Tembe, passed away. The rapper took to Instagram to remember her.
“…it never goes away. Every day I pray for her, myself and our families. I will never be the same person I was … but I will do the best I can with the gift and opportunity of life that I still have left. Thank You to everyone who has stuck by me and our respective families … you know who you are,” he wrote.
The ‘Fela In Versace’ rapper’s followers offered words of support.
“It doesn’t go away Bro. we live with the fact that they are no longer be with us. HOPING that when they get a sneak preview of how we doing they can be happy knowing we are happy as well,” one Instagram user wrote.
Another follower commented: “Sending you love and strength brother.”
Nelli Tembe case latest
Nelli fell to her death from the 10th storey of a Cape Town hotel in April. In an interview with Bar Leader TV, AKA shared his account of what happened that fateful day.
“Anele threatened to kill herself, to jump off the balcony… I went to the bathroom and when I came out of the bathroom, she was not in the room. I look around and she’s not there. I went to the balcony and looked down at the street and that’s where she was,” he recalls.
The NPA revealed in July that it returned the case docket related to Anele’s death back to the police for further investigation.
