A good night’s sleep is more than just eight hours of shut eye, it is your sanctuary, your peaceful place and your haven. From the bamboo linen to the comfortable mattress.
Structuring your bedroom correctily and adding certain elements can make a huge difference between waking up rejuvenated or still feeling tired and worn out. Here are seven steps to enjoying the best sleep you have ever had in your life in your newly designed bedroom.
Your bed plays a pivtoal role and is one of the most essential componets of a restful and relaxing sleep. Depending on your needs, there’s a variety of mattress that are available to suit your natural sleep posture. The memory foam mattress is excellent for relieving ailments such as back pains.
The right lighng in your bedroom is essential. While most people may have different preferences on how much light they would want at night, darkness is best for a complete shutdown of the senses and is peaceful. Try black-out curtains and blinds to have the shutdown effect..
A cool and consistent room temperature contributes to a goodnights sleep. Too much heat can raise the body’s natural temperature and get you irritable and disturb your beauty sleep.
Clear out the clutter
If you have a desk in your room, chances are it’s piling up with paperwork and bills. Consider moving this desk into another room as seeing all the papers and clutter before you sleep will remind you of all the bills and that can cause unecessary stress and make it difficult to sleep. Other ways of decluttering your bedroom include making the bed every morning and packing away clothing and shoes that might be lying around.
Lavender essential oil is known to be calming. Rub 2-3 drops on your palms before you sleep for immediate calming effect on your body. You can also have an oil diffuser in your room.
Ditch the devices
Reduce the distractions and noise-causing devices for absolute serenity. The light from your electronic devices stimulates your brain and disrupts the melatonin needed for your body to sleep peacefully. Ensure that you stop any electronic activity an hour before you go to bed for a better sleep.
The décor in your room has an impact on your mood. Colours such as soft pastels or water colours create a more serene enviroment. Include paintings with oceans, waterfalls and mountains for a tranquil environment.
