The youth unemployment rate in South Africa is at a staggering high. The country’s current statistics show that 30% of the 10.3 million young people aged 15-24 are not employed.

Statistics South Africa has announced that the country’s unemployment rate now stands at 32.5%, which means 7.2 million people do not have jobs.
This takes the unemployment rate to the highest it’s been since the start of the quarterly labor force survey in 2008.
Meanwhile, some economists predict that the unemployment catastrophe worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic will likely take years to fix.
