Hollywood megastar actor, Will Smith is in Namibia shooting Season 2 of the Nat-Geo docu-series ‘One Strange Rock.’ The actor who has a new documentary-series on Netflix, ‘Amend: The Fight for America,” hosts the Nat-Geo show which launched in 2018.
Production dates for Season 2 were delayed due to COVID-19 and the ‘land of the brave’ will be the star’s home for the next month or so as he wraps the shoot. He is expected to visit key Namibian landmarks.
‘One Strange Rock’ explores what makes Earth unique. How the planet sustains life and the fragile systems that keep it thriving. Season 1 was filmed across 45 countries, 6 continents and space.
Relying on the actor’s social media to track his whereabouts is futile. Will keeps things obscure on the ‘gram, sharing pranks or motivational videos with his 51 million followers.
Namibia is a director’s dream dystopian location shoot, with the Hollywood blockbuster “Mad Max” filmed on the desert sand dunes. With the direction the series takes one can speculate that the desert will feature in the docu-series, as experts explain how it sustains life.
