The world’s most popular swindler has spoken out telling people everything said about him is a big, fat lie.
In an exclusive interview with Inside Edition, Simon Leviev says he was portrayed to be a monster in the Netflix documentary, The Tinder Swindler.
The popular documentary chronicled the tales of 3 women who thought they had met the heir to the Israeli diamond empire on the dating app Tinder.
Only to be lured into an endless “ponzi scheme” where they landed themselves in thousands of dollars worth of debt for a man who didn’t really exist.
Going by the alias Simon Leviev, the skilful fraudster’s real name is Shimon Hayut.
He went to elaborate length’s to secure the trust of multiple women from around the world, wining and dining them in first class grandeur before asking them for money because his life was in danger.
Leviev who has since served his 15-month prison term in Israel is now a free man with a new girlfriend, Israeli model, Kate Konlin.
Speaking for the first time since his release, Leviev says he’s not the monster he was painted out to be.
“They weren’t conned and they weren’t threatened. I never portrayed myself as a diamond mogul’s son. I want to clear my name, I want to say to the world, this is not true,” Leviev shared.
When asked how he funds his lavish lifestyle, which has not been affected, Leviev says, “I’m a legitimate businessman. I bought Bitcoin in 2011, I don’t need to say how much it’s worth now.”
