Shekhinah has released the short film visuals for “Fixate” which has received thousands of views on her YouTube channel on the first day of release. The song is from her second studio album, “Trouble in Paradise”, was written, performed and narrated by Shekhinah, and, directed by Monde Gumede has introduced fans to a different side of the songstress.
The story behind the visuals
Shekhinah is bold in the film, seen as an important marker of a new chapter or transition. Her new look adds an interesting dimension to the storytelling in the film.
Upon the release, She thanked the crew for putting together the visual masterpiece. “Many people came together to make this short film come alive I wanna say thank you all so much! I’m extremely grateful to be a part of this.”
The film’s moving visuals explore themes of resilience, nostalgia and rebirth. Stylistically the visuals create an extension of the song ‘Fixate’ which looks at the notion of being a team player in both the artistic and athletic sense.
Towards the end of the film, she teases her upcoming single ‘Insecure’ in a delightful spectacle; there’s also a sense that the story will expand further with more visual in the coming months.
