Amapiano goes global
Amapiano music is being embraced all over the world with dancers in Europe and America dancing to the music.
Rolling Stone wrote a feature about the rise of amapiano – which is a subgenre of SA’s house music.
“Amapiano began to gain traction in South African townships — historically racially segregated residential areas — in 2016… A promising sign of amapiano’s potential for global impact is its popularity across Africa, and particularly Nigeria, which is emerging as the world’s fastest-growing entertainment and media market,” the American publication wrote.

The song is a mix of pop and amapiano.
“I am so proud to finally reveal that I am now signed to Sony’s Epic records USA @epicrecords @sonymusic,” she wrote on Instagram.
Artists such as Mariah Carey, DJ Khaled, Travis Scott, and Sho Madjozi are also signed with Epic.
