South Africa has over the past few year been at war with itself when it come to protecting the girl child. Numerous cases of instances that went horribly wrong continue to surface on social media.
Gender-based violence (GBV) is a profound and widespread problem in South Africa, impacting on almost every aspect of life.
Women don’t feel safe in public spaces and there’s an ongoing campaigns to reduce and eradicate the scourge of Gender-based violence.
Tweeps also reacted to the video:
He didn’t. Congratulate the women for standing up for a defenceless teenager and move. Hate it when men try to instil fear with “what ifs” when they see videos of women standing up for themselves or others. The women were brave, and the predator was taught a lesson, now MOVE.

This is positive and negative as well. They protected a underaged girl but assaulted a person. He could open a case and they could be charged and could face prosecution. Hope the young lady in question is safe.

People under this thread worried about “if” a guy retaliates,
I want women to know that’s how exactly patriarchy enables and protects men.
Unless we stand up for ourselves, no body will.
Let men know there are consequences for their actions.
Put patriarchy on NOTICE! https://t.co/7ToNFRvI6N
