Joburg Water says it is still working to restore the water supply to some parts of the City.
The water supplier says some areas went without water due to issues at its Hurst-Hill reservoir.
The water cuts also affected the Helen Joseph and Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospitals.
According to officials patients at Helen Joseph were given bottled water and a number of operations cancelled.
A patient at Helen Joseph hospital had to order his own water saying the daily ration of 500ml allowed to patients is not enough.
#Hursthill / Brixton / Crosby
There is power failure affecting Crosby. We are unable to pumb water from Hursthill at the moment.
There are still roaming water tankers assigned as we are busy trying to resolve the matter. 2/2. ^D— Johannesburg Water (@JHBWater) May 23, 2021
