In honour of National Amagwinya Day, we at Kaya 959 celebrated this day by enjoying tasty Amagwinya at the office.
Fat cakes, popularly known as Amagwinya is a South African delicacy that is said to have found it’s roots in the “Dutch Oliebol” doughnuts and became a popular dish in South Africa thanks to travellers and trade.
Preparing this delicacy involves frying dough and either stuffing it with a sweet or savoury filling.
On Feel Good with Andy Maqondwana, Andy asks listeners about their favourite Amagwinya fillings.

- Jam

- Snoek
- Minced meat
- Slap Chips
