Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) leader, Julius Malema has President Cyril Ramaphosa’s back after the US Ambassador accused South Africa of supplying Russia with weapons.
Who would have foreseen the day that Malema supports Ramaphosa? The EFF leader who has been vocal in calling for Ramaphosa to step aside, since the Phala Phala cover-up, has not indicated that he supports Ramaphosa’s decision of an independent investigation into the allegations.
Malema said that the allegations are just America’s way of punishing South Africa for not voting against Russia in the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).
The EFF Commander-In-Chief (CIC), also said there’s no way South Africa can provide Russia with weapons, because there’s simply no capacity. Malema is of the belief that if weapons were being traded between the countries, then Russia was supplying South Africa.
“The American’s concerns are misplaced. The current government has no capacity to empower Russians with weapons against their own handlers.
The concerns of America, in relation to South Africa’s posture in the war between Russia and Ukraine, it’s unfounded.
We’ve got a long-standing relationship with Russia, when it was still under the Soviet Union, and Russia has helped us to be where we are.
We will not be dictated to by the USA, in terms of who becomes our friends. There’s no one with capacity in South Africa who can supply Russia with weapons. If anything, it’s the other way around.”
Malema said America is just a cry baby, trying to punish South Africa.
