Theresia Nyirakajumba, is the 123-year old virgin who is still holding onto hope she will find her soulmate and fulfill her desire for intimacy.
In an interview with Afrimax English, Theresia’s extraordinary story of patience and virtue has been shared, in the hopes that the man who was destined to be hers, will find her.
“All my life, I never had a husband. I’m 123-years old, it’s true that I’m a virgin. If I had a husband, maybe I would have had some children.
In my culture, girls were not allowed to be alone with a man. This principle was my way of life. I chose to live alone, even when my parents and family requested me to accept a man and marry.
I never developed feelings for any man. I didn’t want to engage with men, I had a strong fear of men, and that prevented me from any potential relationship.”

Born on 01 January 1900, Theresia may just be the oldest person alive, a title that was once held by a Spanish woman who was born in 1907.
The 123-year old virgin says, she turned down a number of proposals in her youth, waiting for the time she would feel ready for marriage.
Theresia says she now has a strong, unfulfilled desire for intimacy, and is hoping to now find a man to show her love.
“I have never seen the nakedness of a man, for 123-years, I have lived with an unfulfilled desire, a deviant hope, and a courageous spirit of waiting for that day when a man will emerge and embrace my soul.”
