Simphiwe Nhlangulela, better known by her stage name Simmy, gained prominence in 2018 after releasing her debut album Tugela Fairy, with single “Ngiyesaba”.
She then went onto give us the 2020 release of Tugela Fairy (Made of Stars), with the chart-topping single “Ngihamba Nawe” on the top 100 airplay charts.
Simmy is one of SA’s most-streamed female artists on Spotify, with over 2.6 million streams, across 92 countries.
She spoke to DJ Keyez about her latest accomplishments as a musician and despite making such huge strides on the music scene she remains humble.
“Especially with the SAMAs, being nominated on its own is such a big deal. Just to be recognised, I always just look at the people I’m nominated with and that in itself is just beautiful,” Simmy shared with DJ Keyez.
