The trial of the alleged mastermind behind the murder of Tshegofatso Pule is set to begin today.
Ntuthuko Shoba appeared in court earlier this week, where his application was not transferred to Johannesburg prison.
He had claimed that his life was in danger, saying convicted killer of Tshegofatso Pule and state witness Muzikayise Malephane was sending threatening WhatsApp messages.
The Roodepoort Magistrates Court has ruled that Shoba be transferred to the Johannesburg Prison and be kept in a single cell.
Correctional Services official, Lesetja Masenya, told the court that sentenced prisoners and awaiting trial detainees were kept at different buildings at the Johannesburg Prison.
Meanwhile, it is still unclear whether Shoba has legal representation after his lawyer withdrew from the case this week.
The National Prosecuting Authority‘s Phindi Mjonondwane says all investigations are concluded, and the state is ready to proceed with the trial.
