Thuli Phongolo has refused to back down from comments she made about the unrest in the country.
Scores of people took to the streets of Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal demanding that former president Jacob Zuma be released from prison.
The 79-year-old is serving a 15-month prison sentence for contempt of court.
Thuli slammed the protest action, which she believes was incited by the Zuma family.
“The Zumas are out of hand.
“Encouraging violence and damaging of people’s belongings and property is uncalled for, I don’t care who says what!” she tweeted.

Thuli appeared to be reacting to tweets shared by Zuma’s daughter, Dudu Zuma-Sambudla.

Standing by her opinion
Thuli’s tweet received more than 10,000 likes but several Twitter users slammed the actress.
“Do you even know why the family is angry do you even know anything about what’s happening ..you can’t condemn the reaction without knowing the root..which problem are you solving,” one person wrote.
But Thuli refused to back down from her comments.
“I will not fold my tweet. My opinion won’t change. I’m not offended by insults. I stand by my word. That’s all.”

What we now see on the streets is a mirror of what the SA government has been doing to this country for years. The spirit of the leaders imprinted on the fiber of our society.💔
