Skhumba gave Phemelo a task to give Kaya listeners a 60 second challenge on the morning show, to do a roundup of all that happened in the last 24 hours.
On taking a holiday Phemelo says she hasn’t taken a holiday in 2 years. “I haven’t had the time where there’s down time. It’s the order of the day, huge moves, we’ve been busy in South Africa.”
Point of View with Phemelo Motene
Her show begins on Monday, the 5rd of July. It is a new talk-based show named Point of View with Phemelo Motene. She will be delving into the day’s current affairs, touch on real issues and share expert advice on the audience’s everyday questions from 8pm to 10pm Mondays to Thursdays.
She spoke about how much of a massive role radio plays in people’s lives and how she can’t wait to be of service. “You have got to think about the landscape of the land and think, that number 1, so many people don’t have things like data and so on. So it’s not really an option to go online for most people. We also take for granted other platforms… Radio tends to be the cheapest form of media at the moment. I love that about it, that it is accessible for all. I also think wet take for granted the role its can play in our lives.”
