Last week, Rand Water issued a statement warning South Africans about a planned 54-hour water cut that would commence from Monday, 15 November to allow work on the pipe that supplies the Vereeniging water purification plant.
Affected areas included Roodepoort, Randburg, Langlaagte, Southdale, Soweto and Johannesburg CBD.
It’s been a few days since the planned 54-hour water cuts, and some parts of Johannesburg are still without water.
One person also severely affected by this is South African actress Amanda Manku. The Skeem Saam star revealed that she has been without water since Monday and referred to the situation as a serious health hazard.
“No water since Monday, this is a health hazard serious,” she tweeted.

Losing her parents
This year, Amanda lost her parents and revealed she did not know who to turn to for comfort.
“I want to vent! I want to understand! How can I lose my mother and grandmother at the same time? Who will I go to for comfort? For advice? Morena nkarabe,” she posted in part.
One thing my mother always told me, is to stop posting about my problems but right now, it’s hard. I want to vent! I want to understand!
