Thato Mosehle is teaching her fellow Miss Supranational contestants about South African culture.
The Miss South Africa runner-up touched down in Poland a few days ago to participate in the pageant.
Her roommate is Miss Supranational USA Shivali Patel. The women have been sharing videos of their behind-the-scenes shenanigans.
“I couldn’t be happier. My Roomie is @_shivalipatel from USA! This is gonna be an awesome time,” Thato wrote.
Shivali is equally excited to have Thato as a roommate.
“My heart is happy. Immaculate roommate vibes 24/7 with Miss Supranational South Africa.”
The women decided to team up to record a fun video.
“Wathint’ umfazi wathint’ imbokodo! It’s Women’s Day in South Africa and what better way to celebrate than learning South African phrases from the charming @thato_mosehle …
Before they could even get into the phrases, Shivali had difficulties pronouncing ‘isiXhosa’.
Thato’s national costume
Before heading to Poland, Thato unveiled her national costume for the pageant.
Her ‘Basotho Warrior’ national costume was designed by Sello Medupe for SCALO.
“When we started the process of creating my national costume I knew I wanted one thing, a SeanaMarena. This blanket is a symbol of pride, warmth and leadership in my Basotho culture. Ke le apere kaofela” Thato said about the look.
Anel Botha also created a “draped, fully beaded, hooded, one-shoulder” evening dress for Thato.
The 12th Miss Supranational will be crowned later this month.
