Take the #RideOfYourLife with Gold Reef City

By: Natasha Archary

If you’re up for an adrenaline-charged day or are looking for something fun to do with the little ones, then you’d agree that Gold Reef City is the preferred hot spot for many in Jozi. A heads up to thrill-seekers is that the much-loved local entertainment spot is giving away a holiday experience of a lifetime, to Abu Dhabi.

All you have to do to enter is take The Ride of Your Life first at the Theme Park, complete the challenges on the passport and you and a plus one could be spending some time at Ferrari World, or shopping up a storm all expenses paid.

Ready to take the Ride of Your Life?

Win or lose, this entry is a riot of fun all its own. All you need to do is purchase your Theme Park ticket, collect a Ride of Your Life passport and then complete the activities until 28 March. Each activity will be stamped on your passport – your proof of your bravery and courage! Once completed, drop your passport in the kiosk stationed at the Food Court. Easy. The good news is that every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday (during the promotional period) you get double stamps on ALL rides.

This means you can complete multiple passports per visit to increase your chance of winning the GRAND PRIZE. And, if you complete all 12 activities on the passport you will automatically be entered into one of four draws to stand a chance to win a PlayStation4. The final draw is on Saturday, 28 March 2020 at 4pm in Town Square. What are you waiting for – take that Ride!

Feel like a kid again

At the media launch for the #RideOfYourLife competition, we met last years’ winners who recounted their spectacular time in the Persian Gulf island. The theme park was also our playground for the day and the thrill rides were the main attraction for the group.

The Anaconda was without a doubt the best theme park ride for yours truly personally. There was just something completely freeing about being whipped around in the air like a rag doll, scared to your wits end, wondering if your feet are going to kick palm trees. Loved every second of it.

The Tower of Terror brought back spine-chilling memories of last years’ innovative bungee date (link) and for a split second the vertical drop made my heart sink but after other patrons encouraged me on, we conquered that nightmare like it was child’s play. I definitely recommend this one too.

As for the Golden Loop, if OMG was an actual thing, it would be this ride. From 0km – 85km in 3 seconds, it’s probably the most accurate experience of what it’s like for a fighter pilot taking off in a jet. Oh, scream you will. It’s definitely not for the feint hearted but please give it a go and think of me when you are yelling your heart out.

Don’t forget to book your Thrill Rider tickets online to stand a chance to win more!

Firstly, you will pay less for your tickets. Secondly, you avoid standing in queues in the sweltering heat. And, lastly – but most importantly – every now and then Gold Reef City will launch a draw which could see you winning fabulous cash prizes for booking online. Last year November Victor Mabasa won a whopping R20 000, Thando Sathula won R10 000 and Linduthando Gumede won R5 000. Three very good reasons to book online!

Rules with the complete offer is available at Gold Reef City or the Theme Park guest services desk.
