Tiger Woods and Nike have officially parted ways after 27 years.
After more than 27 years, Tiger Woods and the world’s largest sportswear company, Nike, have called it quits.
Since going professional in 1996, the 15-time major golf champion has used the brand’s gear and products.
At the age of 20, Woods began working with Nike, and during their reportedly $500 million partnership, the American became one of the most well-known figures on the globe.
Phil Knight, the co-founder and former CEO of Nike, received praise from Woods on Tuesday along with other athletes, staff, and him for his “passion and vision”.
“Over 27 years ago, I was fortunate to start a partnership with one of the most iconic brands in the world. The days since have been filled with so many amazing moments and memories, if I started naming them, I could go on forever.
Phil Knight’s passion and vision brought this Nike and Nike Golf partnership together and I want to personally thank him, along with the Nike employees and incredible athletes I have had the pleasure of working with along the way.
People will ask if there is another chapter. Yes, there will certainly be another chapter.
