If you needed proof Elon Musk is South African, his sense of humour is it because the billionaire has just cracked the biggest joke when he tweeted, “Also, I’m buying Manchester United, you’re welcome!”
This after the football club’s American owners have received public ridicule following two consecutive losses in the English Premier league.
Fans and former Man United players are calling for the Glazer family to sell the club as they are responsible for the club’s downfall.
With no end in sight to Manchester United’s demise, Elon Musk seized the opportunity to send Twitter into a frenzy by giving disgruntled fans false hope that the end is near.

He later admitted that he has no intention of buying any sports team, and definitely wouldn’t settle for Manchester United who are on a steady decline.
The last time Manchester United won a trophy was in May 2017, when the club took home the Europa League Title.
This is the once prestigious club’s longest trophy drought, and the last time Man United won the Premier League was in the 2012/13 season.
Manchester United suffered an embarrassing start to the 2022/23 season with defeats to both Brentford and Brighton & Hove Albion.
Despite Benni McCarthy being appointed as the first team coach, United have failed to score any goals in the first two matches this season.
The team take on Liverpool next on 22 August and have a low 18% win probability rating.
Musk who is currently embroiled in a controversial bid for Twitter, may just have lost a few million followers after pulling this cracker of a joke!
