There were scenes of jubilation as a massive crowd of just over 1,000 happy South Africans welcomed back Mzansi’s Olympic gold medalist Tatjana Smith and the rest of Team South Africa as they arrived at OR Tambo International Airport on Wednesday following the Paris Olympics.

Smith was the top performer for Team South Africa at the Paris Olympics, winning gold and silver medals in the 100 and 200-metre breaststroke events, respectively.
