Kaizer Chiefs captain Yusuf Maart has officially departed the Soweto giants to join newly promoted Austrian Bundesliga side SV Ried.
The move sees the influential midfielder embark on a European journey, leaving a significant void in Amakhosi’s squad just as they prepare for the new season.
The transfer marks a new chapter for Maart, who joined Kaizer Chiefs in 2022 from Sekhukhune United and quickly established himself as a key figure in the midfield, eventually earning the captain’s armband.
Maart will link up with fellow South African Antonio van Wyk at SV Ried, who helped the Austrian club secure promotion to the top-tier Bundesliga last season.

Another South African connection at the club is assistant coach and chief analyst Moritz Kossmann, formerly of Ubuntu Academy and Cape Town City FC Diski Challenge.
Maart is currently awaiting his visa in Johannesburg, maintaining fitness with a private trainer, and is expected to join his new teammates as soon as possible.
