Orlando Pirates midfielder Relebohile Mofokeng was recently voted Gauteng Sports Personality of the Year, beating top contenders such as UFC champion Dricus du Plessis and Bafana Bafana captain Ronwen Williams.
Following his victory, it was announced that Mofokeng would be rewarded with a brand-new car, courtesy of the Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture, and Recreation.
“Gauteng Sports Awards Personality of the Year winner, Relebohile Mofokeng, will receive his prize of a brand new car handed over by MEC Matome Chiloane,” the department stated.
The official handover took place on Tuesday, 11 February 2025, at Bidvest McCarthy VW Westgate in Roodepoort where the 20-year-old received the keys to his brand-new VW Polo.
Mofokeng has quickly risen through the ranks to become a key player for the Soweto giants. Known for his versatility, high work rate, and strong defensive contributions, he has established himself as a fan favourite at Orlando Pirates.
