Pitso Mosimane to receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Johannesburg.
Pitso Mosimane, will on the 25th of July receive an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Johannesburg (UJ).
The ceremony will honour Mosimane’s outstanding career as a player, manager of an international club, and coach of the national team.
Mosimane is now one of Africa’s most successful managers who has has won 19 trophies during his coaching career in South Africa, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia.
In a statement from the institution, Professor Bettine van Vuuren, Registrar of UJ, emphasizes that graduation rates alone are not the genuine indicator of educational performance.
“Rather, it lies in the quality of intellect and character they bring to the wider community,”
“An Honorary Doctorate serves as recognition for individuals who have made substantial contributions to a particular field or has offered exceptional service to society, closely aligning with the University’s vision, mission, values, and strategic objectives.”

He is presently the head coach of Abha FC in the Saudi Pro League.
