South African midfielder Percy Muzi Tau and Egyptian football club Al Ahly SC have officially parted ways.
The club announced the mutual separation with the 30-year-old through their social media platforms.
Following the announcement, Tau penned a heartfelt message to Al Ahly fans, expressing his gratitude for the incredible memories shared.
“From day one, I was here to make history, and together we made it,” he wrote.
“You, my beloved ones, have been my home and my inspiration during my time with you. Together, we created unforgettable memories.”
The Bafana Bafana international player also reflected on the twelve titles he won with the club since joining in 2021 under the leadership of Pitso Mosimane.
“I am truly pleased to have achieved all these accolades with you, without sparing a single drop of sweat,” he added.
“Each victory was made sweeter by your unwavering support and by seeing smiles spread across your faces. Your cheers, passion, and love have been the driving force behind every moment I spent on the pitch.”
Tau acknowledged that leaving what is arguably the biggest club in Africa was not easy, vowing to cherish the memories forever.
“Many thanks to the President, Management, Coaches, Staff, Players, and everyone who contributes to the club. Thank you for being my family, my inspiration, and my greatest supporters. This isn’t goodbye, but rather a heartfelt ‘see you later,’” Tau concluded.
