Kylian Mbappe has said that the match against Bafana Bafana was ‘a nice bit of fun’.
South Africans were heartbroken when the national team suffered a humiliating defeat at the hand of the world champions.
Kylian Mbappe assisted the game’s final goal, breaking an all-time French record, in France’s 5-0 win over South Africa on Tuesday night.
France was in a league of their own against Bafana Bafana, cruising to victory with goals from Kylian Mbappe, Olivier Giroud, Wissam Ben Yedder, and Matteo Guendouzi.
Mbappe took to Instagram to share highlight images of himself with the caption, “Une belle partie de plaisir.” translated as “a nice bit of fun'”

South Africans were angry after the 5-0 loss, but the Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos, was eager to bring out the context of the team’s first journey to Europe in a decade.
Even though his Bafana Bafana side had just been thrashed by reigning world champions France, Broos was composed during the post-match press conference.
“It was about the experience – we are a young team and don’t have the experience that France has,” he explained.
“We don’t have the quality that they have, they are the world champions. We fought for it and did what we had to do. But when there’s such a difference in quality, it can happen that you lose the game with this result.”
“It’s not a shame for us even if it’s 5-0, we know why. And again, the experience we had today to play against such a team counts more than the defeat today,” said Broos.
