The Premier Soccer League’s (PSL) Disciplinary Committee has taken action against Kaizer Chiefs for the misconduct of their fans following a 1-0 loss to TS Galaxy. Objects were thrown at coach Molefi Ntseki after the match.
Confirming the charges, PSL prosecutor Zola Majavu stated, “I can confirm I have preferred charges of misconduct against Kaizer Chiefs. This as a result of a missile-throwing incident that transpired in a match between themselves and TS Galaxy on Sunday,”
Kaizer Chiefs is set to appear before the PSL DC on Tuesday, August 29, to address the charges.
Prior to Chiefs’ loss to TS Galaxy, Molefi Ntseki, had expressed satisfaction with his team’s hard-fought 2-1 triumph over Cape Town City in the MTN8 tournament.
He commended his players for demonstrating both character and “trust in the process”, although he acknowledged that the match, which was determined in extra time, was a closely contested affair.
“It was a very tough one, knowing that we came from a loss in our last game against Sundowns. So I impressed on the players that, as this was a Cup game, we had to give an ‘A’ performance, and I must say well done to the players in terms of how they responded to implementing the plan today,” stated Ntseki.
“From the first minute, you could see we wanted to win this game. We were putting much pressure on the opponents, and we didn’t give them much space to play. I think our counter-pressing was very good.”
