Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly parted ways with head coach Stuart Baxter, this is according to Soccer Laduma.
The publication reports that Baxter’s second spell as head coach of the club came to a sudden end.
It is also reported that the announcement was made by Kaizer Motaung Jnr, who’s the club’s sporting director and Arthur Zwane will take over the reins until the end of the season.
Baxter first took charge of Kaizer Chiefs in 2012 winning the premiere soccer league and the Nedbank Cup in his first season. In the 2014-2015 season, on the back of a disappointing second season at the helm, Baxter regained the league title and also won the MTN 8. He left the club on the 2nd of June 2015 to coach in Turkey.
Baxter began his second spell at Kaizer Chiefs in June 2021, leading them to their first CAF Champions League final which they lost to Pisto Mosimane’s Ah Ahly.
The club is yet to issue an official statement on the sacking of their head coach.
