Springbok winger, Cheslin Kolbe made history on Thursday evening when he secured the coveted SA Rugby Men’s Player of the Year award.
The prestigious accolade was presented at the SA Rugby Awards gala ceremony held at the International Convention Centre in Cape Town.
Kolbe is the first backline player to win the title since 2013.
Kolbe’s 2024 season has been nothing short of spectacular, cementing his status as a global rugby icon.
His electrifying performances, which were pivotal in the Springboks’ victories in the Rugby Championship and the Freedom Cup, earned him the top honour. The award recognises not only his exceptional skill but also his significant impact on the national team’s success.
“It’s really an honor, there’s so much talent within this country and the guys have showcased their talent throughout 2024, and for me to stand here tonight to accept this award is just massive,” said Kolbe.
