Manchester United’s new head coach, Ruben Amorim, arrived at the club’s Carrington training complex on Monday.
Amorim was warmly welcomed outside the men’s first-team building, where chief executive Omar Berrada greeted him with a hug. Sporting director Dan Ashworth and technical director Jason Wilcox were also on hand to welcome the new manager.
While Amorim’s official start awaits visa clearance, he will spend the interim meeting key staff and familiarising himself with the club’s operations.
Amorim’s appointment follows the dismissal of Dutch manager Erik ten Hag in October, after a series of disappointing results.
Ruud van Nistelrooy Exits Manchester United
Manchester United also confirmed Ruud van Nistelrooy’s departure from the club. Having rejoined in the summer, Ruud led the team as interim head coach for the last four matches.
“Ruud is, and always will be, a Manchester United legend. We are grateful for his contributions and the professionalism he brought to his role throughout his time with the club. He will always be very welcome at Old Trafford,” stated Manchester United in a farewell message.
