As we approach the end of the year, Kaizer Chiefs will be playing their final home game of 2023 against Richards Bay FC on Saturday, December 23rd at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
This match will mark the end of the first round of matches in the 2023/24 DStv Premiership for both Amakhosi and the Natal Rich Boys. It will be their 15th game of the current season.
In their previous 14 matches, Chiefs have managed to collect 20 points, placing them in 6th position on the league table. On the other hand, Richards Bay is currently in 15th place with 10 points.
Chiefs will enter the match with confidence, having secured two consecutive wins in their past few weeks. They defeated both Swallows and Polokwane City with a score of 1-0 in away games. However, Richards Bay suffered a loss in the KwaZulu-Natal derby, falling 3-2 against Royal AM on December 10th.
Amakhosi coach, Cavin Johnson, will be evaluating some of his previously injured players who have returned to training with the team. This includes Ashley Du Preez and Siyethemba Sithebe. Unfortunately, players like Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Itumeleng Khune, and Keagan Dolly are still unavailable.
The club is calling on all supporters in Gauteng to come out in large numbers and attend the last home match of the year at FNB Stadium. Don’t forget to wear your team colors and show your support!
