Someone should tell the In The Morning team that there are some things that you just don’t need to disclose to your company. Especially when it comes to the pandemic privilege of working remotely.
But, Thomas and Skhumba are exposing some of the incredulous things employees kept to themselves during their days working from home.
The conversation was inspired by one of Thomas’ friends who kept her pregnancy hidden. What? A whole pandemic baby!
Yup. Thomas was the only one who picked up that his friend was preggies during a video call when he noted that she had picked up a few extra kilograms.
At first he marked it down to the vegetative state that Covid-19 brought to the world, and many people gained the dreaded pandemic weight.
But then, he noticed little things like how she was always tired and he did the math, and figured out that his friend was just heavily pregnant.
Something she did not feel the need to disclose to her company or colleagues.
Now, some of the responses from listeners were not as, uhm, big as a baby but these are some habits people kept to themselves whilst working remotely.

Ssssh! No one has to know
We all know that Thomas and Skhumba used to chill in his PJ’s and gown when on-air.
This is definitely one of the perks from working remotely that many can relate to and probably miss now that we’ve returned to the office.
One of the listeners shared that she used to enjoy an alcoholic drink with her lunch every day. On Fridays, she would often have more than one glass.
“I used to appear online even after I’ve logged off for the day, just so my boss could see that, ah, no, this one is working. Some days my work was done in 3-hours and the rest of my workday, ah it was me time!”
Here are some of the things employees hid from their company about working remotely
- Taking meetings whilst in my car waiting to go into the mall
- Working from the toilet
- PJ’s aside, clothes are optional when you’re in the comfort of your home
- Having sex during office hours, whilst on a conference call, training or Teams meeting
- Cooking or prepping meals
- Working out whilst a meeting is taking place
- Started or finished a qualification
- Working from another province or moving back home
