The intense pressures of being a mother doesn’t give you much time to develop a personal identity. and it becomes easy to lose yourself.
In society, mothers are often told that anything we do for ourselves is selfish and takes away from our children.
There is a deep-seated feeling that doing something that gets us excited must necessarily harm them.

Nkonde who shared how her second pregnancy was triplets spoke about how mothers often fall into a trap of forgetting everything else for the sake of making sure that their parenthood becomes a blissful experience.
“I think with us as mothers we end up being consumed by being a mother because the nurturing side of ourselves kicks in, and we forget about a lot of things that are happening.
“Maybe even your marriage and your friendships, and you really want to get this thing right. Your heart is set on doing it right, I think we all walk into parenthood with good intentions.”
She also shared how babies, partners, and families bring so much happiness into our lives, but happiness comes from within – a true sense of contentment that comes from knowing and loving yourself.
