There’s no such thing as a bad idea, like there’s no such thing as stupid questions, right? Not quite, as Feel Good listeners shared with Andy Maqondwana.
From not saving money or putting it towards their education, to leaving their marriages because the sex was better with the side piece, listeners share the lemons they picked from the tree that is life!
We’ve all made terrible decisions and that’s part of the lessons you learn as you navigate the world, but bad, no the worst idea often springs from an impulsive decision without giving much thought to the pros and cons, or repercussions.
Take a listen to some of the worst ideas Feel Good listeners have had:
Don’t beat yourself up too much over the worst idea ever
Do you think all the great businessmen, scientists, innovators of the world just woke up one day and *BING* out popped just sheer brilliance?
No. Their eventual success comes after many failed attempts, revised ideas and equations and, yup you guess it, ideas.
The point is to learn from these forgettable indiscretions, bad choices and poor decisions and use them as a stepping stone for self-development.
Here’s how:
- Listen and keep listening – Be open to advice from friends, family or people who have life and/or industry knowledge
- Be open to suggestion – Sometimes bad ideas can be tweaked to become a not-so-bad idea if you leave yourself open to suggestion.
- Don’t kill off your ideas – Creative minds are always working, and there’s probably a tonne of ideas churning per minute, rather than kill off an idea because you think it’s a bad one, put it on hold and revisit at a later stage.
- Be patient – You want to get something off the ground and you want it off the ground now, it’s understandable but waiting to assess a situation or
